At 3:30 yesterday afternoon OH Gov. Mike DeWine came on television and, in short, told residents that voting for today was cancelled. It was for the “sake of the elderly.” Does that sound anything at all like it is for the “sake of the children?”
But to play it fair and ensure he didn’t sound like the little dictator that he is, as he spoke, he was having a lawsuit filed in a Columbus court, Ohio’s capital, for a decision to be made as he spoke to residents. DeWine said it was too big of a decision for him to make. Read: passing the buck. He was recommending that voting be delayed until June or later.
Judge Richard Frye held a hearing on the lawsuit said that voting would go forward. But since that wasn’t the answer DeWine wanted, DeWine announced that voting would NOT be held, regardless of what the judge said. Poll workers were called and told not to show up. Then they were later called and told to show up that elections were proceeding.
The state could have appealed the decision but as of 9:30 p.m. last night, no appeal was filed. Then voting was called off again.
The only thing worse than calling off the election was DeWine’s announcement at 3:00 p.m. this past Sunday was that at 9:00 p.m., six hours later, all bars and restaurants in OH would shut down. And they had to and they did. Many will never reopen and many jobs were lost.
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade was cancelled last week and there will be no masses in any Catholic Church until after Easter.
Why was all this done? Did we have a mass outbreak of coronovirus. No. In fact, only fifty cases have been diagnosed out of an OH population of 11.42 million and they were diagnosed in fourteen of our eighty-eight counties. There have been no deaths.
A medical moron working for the state, Dr, Amy Acton, said last week that 100,000 Ohioans would be infected. She quickly had to walk back that ridiculous statement. She must be a Democrat; they are seldom right.
I have no concerns about Trump but we have local elections where people desperately need to understand they are getting kicked out of office and there are issues that need defeating. And now we have to wait for the pleasure of doing that?
But we need to remember: that everything being done in the continuing hoax of the coronovirus is for the “sake of the elderly.”
